LAHORE, July 2: Wapda with five gold medals won the first National invitational women judo championship on Sunday.
They also grabbed two silver medals and one bronze.
Wapda which started the second day of the championship with three gold medals to their credit increased it when Gul Zaman clinched a gold medal in the 57kg class followed by Nazma, who excelled in the 70kg class.
Railways secured second position with two gold medals, three silver and one bronze.
Army were third with one gold, two silver and as many bronze medals.
Police captured fourth position with one silver and five bronze medals.
Later, a five-member Pakistan team was selected to participate in the forthcoming SAF Games to be held in Sri Lanka in August.
Team: Humaira (48kg), Zara (52kg), Gul Zaman (57kg), Fazilat (63kg), Nazma (70 kg).
