European Union countries have agreed to widen sanctions against Iran to include those responsible for blocking the Strait of Hormuz, Reuters reports, citing EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas.

Kallas has said she had asked foreign affairs ministers at their meeting in Luxembourg to bolster the EU’s naval mission in the Middle East, which is currently protecting ships from attacks by Yemen’s Houthi rebel group in the Red Sea.
