Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Raggi has condemned Iran’s threats to close the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that Tehran must compensate for the damage and economic losses caused by these threats.
Raggi, in a post on X, says he attended an emergency ministerial meeting of the Arab League, which focused on Iran’s “unlawful attacks against Arab states and the obligations imposed on Iran under international law”.
“The ministers also rejected and condemned Iran’s continued funding, arming, and mobilising of militias loyal to it in several Arab countries, in ways that serve its own agenda at the expense of regional stability,” Raggi says.
“We called on the UN Security Council to fully assume its responsibilities for maintaining peace and security at both the regional and international levels.”
