Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has held a telephone conversation with Australia’s FM Penny Wong, the Foreign Office says.
FM Wong expressed her appreciation for the Dar’s efforts, as well as Pakistan’s “constructive role in facilitating dialogue between Iran and [the] United States”, the FO said.
“She commended Pakistan’s continued commitment to promoting diplomatic engagement in this regard.”
FO said Dar apprised Wong of the Islamabad Talks held on April 11-12 and reiterated Pakistan’s “resolve to continue encouraging dialogue and constructive engagement”.
“The two leaders expressed concern over the broader implications on the global economy, particularly for developing countries, and emphasised the importance of peaceful resolution of conflicts.”
