UN special coordinator hails Lebanon ceasefire as ‘important step’

Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, the United Nations special coordinator for Lebanon, has welcomed a 10-day ceasefire in Lebanon, calling it “another important step to break the cycle of conflict that has prevailed for far too long”, Al Jazeera reports.

“Lasting stability for all must be the shared objective,” she writes on X.
