United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has expressed appreciation to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar for Pakistan’s role in convening the US-Iran talks in Islamabad over the weekend, according to the Foreign Office (FO).
“The SG appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in convening the Islamabad talks and commended the DPM/FM’s efforts in advancing regional peace,” the FO says on X. “He also expressed the UN’s full support to Pakistan’s continued efforts in this regard.”
Dar has reaffirmed to Guterres Pakistan’s “commitment to promoting dialogue and diplomacy for peace and stability in the region”.
