Senator Sherry Rehman has noted that although some obstacles arose later during the US-Iran talks, the intention on both sides to engage in dialogue remained positive, which was “a good sign for future talks”.

Speaking to Al Arabiya English, she observed that despite a lack of trust between the two parties, they chose Islamabad as a neutral location for initial negotiations.
