Boys top in SSC exam

TIMERGARA, June 28: The Board of Intermediate  and  Secondary Education   (BISE),  Malakand,  announced  the  results  of   annual Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination 2006, here on Wednesday.

Furqanullah,  roll  number 11555, of  the Government  High  School, Malakand,  Timergara, Dir Lower, topped in the examination, securing  949 marks.

Abid Rahim, roll number 8859 and Fahim Khan, roll number 13192 of  Jamal  English Education Academy, Chakdara  and  Allama  Iqbal Model  School,  Dir Upper, clinched the second and  third  positions, respectively, securing 936 and 932 marks.

In  science  group (girls), Maria Qamar, roll number  7165  of Malakand  Public  School, Dargai, secure first position  with  911 marks  while  Sana  Nawab, roll number 8269 of  Lala  Zar  Public School,  Thana, and Mubashira, roll number 089 of Government  Girls High School, Dargai, secured second and third positions, respectively, securing 897 and 891 marks.

In  humanities  group (boys), Mohammad Imran, roll number  36852,  a private candidate, stood first with 815 marks while Muharam  Zeb, roll  number 18951 of the Government High School, Nehagdara,  and  Gul Hazrat,  roll number 36866, a private candidate, stood second  and third by securing 811 and 778 marks, respectively.

Among girls, Samrina, roll number  3965  of Government Girls High School, Chakdara, stood first with 826  marks while  Aasheia Begum, roll number 5024 of Government  Girls  High School, Wari,  Dir  Upper,  and Saima Naz,  roll  number  4683  of the Government  Girls  High School, Rabat, Dir Lower,  secured  second  and third positions after securig 798 and 795 marks, respectively, in  the humanities  group.

Approximately 61.8 per cent of the candidates passed the examination.

The  press  release  further said  that  20,629  candidates had appeared  in the examination, of which only  12,752  candidates passed the examination.
