A ceasefire proposal with Israel and the commencement of direct negotiations with Israel have begun, and so far have received a “positive response”, Al Jazeera reports, quoting Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.

“The only solution to the current situation in Lebanon is to achieve a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon,” he has said.
