Israel’s diaspora affairs minister and member of the ruling Likud party Amichai Chikli says a ceasefire with Iran was “a mistake”, Al Jazeera reports, citing local media.

“I think it was a mistake to go to a ceasefire at this time. Countries like these, the Japanese Empire, Nazi Germany, you need to bring them to their knees,” he told Israel’s 103FM radio.

He added that according to him, the probability that the ceasefire would last is 50 per cent.
