PESHAWAR, June 27: An additional district and sessions judge on Tuesday dismissed the bail application of an official of Islamabad police charged with kidnapping a woman from a shelter house.

The presiding officer, Zamurad Shah, ruled that the accused, Chaudhry Mohammad Ashraf, an Assistant Sub-Inspector of Bhara Kahu police station, was not entitled to be released on bail.

Ashraf was arrested on June 7 after the Peshawar High Court accepted a writ petition of the woman and ordered local police to register an FIR against the ASI and her four relatives.
