The Iranian embassy in Islamabad has delivered a sharp rebuke of US President Donald Trump’s threats that “a whole civilisation will die” in Iran tonight.

“You don’t know how civilisations work because [you] never had one,” the embassy has said on X, addressing Trump. “They are not born over a night and will not die over a night.”
