Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has spoken with Nato Secretary General Mark Rutte, with the pair addressing issues concerning the alliance, as well as regional and global matters, according to a statement from the Turkish Presidency.
“Noting that the process initiated by attacks on Iran has caused a geostrategic deadlock, President Erdogan said that [the] international community must step up its efforts to end this war,” the statement reads.
Drawing attention to Nato’s support for Turkiye’s air defence, Erdogan has stated that the solidarity displayed in this regard has once again demonstrated the alliance’s deterrence, it adds.
