RAWALPINDI: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi on Friday caught eight students red-handed while cheating in the Tarjamaul Quran paper of matric annual examination.

According to BISE Rawalpindi spokesman Arslan Cheema, two of the candidates were caught st the examination centre of Government Elite High School Morgah, three at Government High School Chak Beli Khan and three at Government Boys High School Jatha Hathial.

He said that cases have been registered against them and sent to the Disciplinary Branch of the board. He said effective steps were being taken to make the examination system transparent and merit-based.

“Strict action is being taken against the cheating mafia under the zero tolerance policy so that the examination process can be made as clean and fair as possible. A modern command and control center has been activated in Rawalpindi through which continuous and effective monitoring of all examination centers is being carried out,” he said.

Under this system, examination activities are being monitored directly, which has clearly reduced the trend of cheating and the circle against the booty mafia has become tighter, he added.
