SHEIKHUPURA, June 26: Son of an expatriate has said that a land grabbers group along with the city B-Division police has allegedly occupied his residential property worth Rs12 million located on Lahore Road opposite vegetable market.

Speaking at a press conference here on Monday, Mr Imtiaz said his father Muhammad Ashraf had been living in Saudi Arabia for the last 38 years. He said Mr Ashraf had purchased property, comprising 15 marlas, from Abid Khan and his father some 23 years ago.

“We have all necessary documents and have paid utility bills, including property tax regularly,” he said.

He showed documents, including `fard’ and utility bills, to journalists, proving ownership of his father Ashraf.

Mr Imtiaz said on March 19, 2006, the said building had been vacated for repair, but Abid Khan along with B-Division SI Faisal Chadhar allegedly occupied it.

He said almost all police high-ups were approached but to no avail. He alleged that Abid Khan had already grabbed properties of some other people in the city.

He has urged the IGP, the chief minister, prime minister and the president to look into the matter and get his property released from grabbers.
