A large explosion shook northern Tehran, AFP journalists have said, with smoke seen rising from the site of the blast, as war with the United States and Israel rages.

One journalist reported glass shaking in their apartment in the Iranian capital as a result of the impact.

The exact location of the blast was not immediately clear.
