Egypt’s FM Dr Badr Abdelatty held a series of phone calls with Deputy PM Ishaq Dar and his counterparts from Turkiye, Qatar and Bahrain yesterday, the Egyptian foreign ministry says.

They discussed the “rapidly evolving regional developments” and coordinated joint efforts to reduce escalation, the ministry said in a statement.

FM Abdelatty “stressed that further escalation threatens dire consequences for regional and international peace and security, affirming that prioritising de-escalation, diplomacy, and dialogue is the only way to prevent the region from descending into widespread chaos”.
