The US remains committed to a conflict that ends on its terms and those of President Donald Trump, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has said, Al Jazeera reports.

In a press briefing, he has further said that countries around the world “ought to be prepared to step up on this critical waterway (the Strait of Hormuz) as well”.

Hegseth added that Nato countries “did not help” when the US asked them, but attacked them for “asking questions”.
