Two Chinese container ships pass the Strait of Hormuz

Maritime tracker MarineTraffic says two ultra-large container vessels owned by Chinese shipping giant Cosco appear to have successfully crossed the Strait of Hormuz, Al Jazeera reports.

The ships aborted an initial transit attempt on Friday, but now appear to have passed through the strait according to MarineTraffic.

If confirmed, it would mark the first crossing by a major container carrier since the start of the conflict.
