Iraqi aviation authorities have announced that the country’s airspace will remain closed until 9am GMT on March 31, Al Jazeera reports.

The closure will impact all arriving, departing and overflying aircraft, they said.

The decision comes on the back of continuous assessment of the security situation in the region and will be reviewed in light of new updates, they added.
