Israel’s military says it is “expanding the security zone” in southern Lebanon, Al Jazeera reports.

Forces from its 162nd division have joined “the expansion of ground operations” in southern Lebanon, together with the 91st and 36th divisions already there, it adds in a statement.

“After two years of fighting in the Gaza Strip and now with the completion of preparations for the mission in the northern sector, forces of the 162nd Division will operate at key targets in southern Lebanon with the aim of expanding the security zone,” the military says.
