Germany’s foreign minister has called for Nato allies to align with the United States on the war with Iran, stressing the need for a swift end to the conflict, Al Jazeera reports.
“Of course it is now important, together with our closest allies within Nato, particularly with the United States, to develop a common position,” Johann Wadephul has said ahead of a G7 meeting near Paris.
He added that Germany, France and Britain share a unified stance, and that talks with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio would be key.
Wadephul also called for the Strait of Hormuz to reopen and has warned Iran must not threaten other countries.
