The FO spokesman further said, “Whatever we do in terms of our advocacy for peace, dialogue and peaceful settlement […] is obviously in very close coordination with Saudi Arabia.”

About other Gulf countries, he said, “So yes, our dialogue goes on with these countries.

Tahir Andrabi reiterated Pakistan’s stance that parties need to show restraint, return to the dialogue table and work for an “irreversible pathway to peace”.

He particularly said he did not think Pakistan “was being silent” on the matter, noting the press releases being issued by the FO and the PMO about the contacts taking place.

“The prime minister is personally leading our diplomatic outreach,” Andrabi said.

He noted with concern that there was circulation of “unverified reports” regarding developments in the region, including claims related to diplomatic exchanges “and even reported travel […] activities”.
