Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has chaired a meeting of the Committee for Monitoring and Implementation of Conservation & Additional Austerity Measures.

The committee focused on assessing the effectiveness of ongoing initiatives to ensure fiscal discipline in the prevailing situation, according to a statement from his office.

Dar reviewed the implementation status of previously approved austerity measures across ministries and provinces.

“He expressed satisfaction over the progress achieved so far, particularly in curtailing non-essential expenditures and improving resource efficiency,” the statement added.
