MUZAFFARABAD: Chief Election Commissioner of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) retired Justice Ghulam Mustafa Mughal has summoned heads of political parties on Saturday (March 28) for consultations and suggestions.
According to a statement issued by his spokesperson on Tuesday, the meeting will discuss preparation and revision of electoral rolls and finalise a code of conduct for candidates and parties ahead of the 2026 Legislative Assembly elections.
The meeting comes amid the Election Commission’s ongoing process of preparing electoral lists for AJK residents and refugees from occupied Jammu and Kashmir living in Pakistan.
Registration officers have been appointed to verify existing voters and register new eligible voters who have turned 18 since the 2022 local government elections, with April 1, 2026, set as the qualifying date for voter registration.
