Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi says that New Delhi “supports de-escalation and restoration of peace at the earliest” in the Middle East, amid the US-Israeli war on Iran.

In a post on X, Modi adds he discussed the situation in the region with US President Donald Trump.

“Ensuring that the Strait of Hormuz remains open, secure and accessible is essential for the whole world. We agreed to stay in touch regarding efforts towards peace and stability,” he has said.
