Nato Secretary-General Mark Rutte has said the alliance “cannot confirm” Israel’s claim that missiles targeting the US-UK Diego Garcia airbase were Iranian, reports Al Jazeera.
Speaking to CBS News, Rutte backed US President Donald Trump’s war on Iran and signalled Nato alignment with Washington, saying member states are expected to rally behind Trump despite delays in coordination.
“I understand the president’s frustration that it takes some time, but again I also ask for some understanding because nations had to prepare for this not knowing,” Rutte said.
