QUETTA: Balochistan Inspector General of Police Muhammad Tahir on Eid day paid tribute to police personnel who sacrificed their lives in terrorist attacks in Quetta and other parts of the province, stressing that their sacrifices would be remembered forever.

He honoured the martyrs who laid down their lives to protect citizens and their property.

The IGP expressed these views while visiting the families of police martyrs at Police Lines and other locations, accompanied by DIG Quetta Imran Shoukat, Commandant Balochistan Constabulary Ashfaq Ahmed, DIG Headquarters Hassan Asad Alvi and SSP Operations Asif Khan.

During his visit to the Police Martyrs Memorial, he laid a floral wreath and paid tribute to the fallen officers. He also met the families of the martyrs, prayed for the elevation of their ranks and for patience for their families.

Family members expressed satisfaction and thanked the police department for its continued support.

IGP Tahir also visited the homes of martyred DSP Mir Faisal Yousafzai, Inspector Zubair Ahmed and Sub-Inspector Metha Khan of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), where he offered condolences and expressed solidarity with their families. “The martyrs are the pride of the nat­ion and their sacrifices will be rememb­ered in history,” he said. He added that the sacrifices of martyrs and ghazis ens­ured peace and security for the public.

He also visited Civil Hospital, where he met police personnel injured in the line of duty and prayed for their speedy recovery. During visits to Sariab, New Sariab and Saddar police stations, he met police personnel and commended their performance.
