KARACHI: Bibi Husan Bano dies

KARACHI, June 23: Bibi Husan Bano Baloch, chief organiser of the women wing of the Baloch Rabita Ittefaq Tehrik, died in Kalat on Thursday night. She was 71.

Her body was brought to Karachi on Friday. She was laid to rest in the afternoon in Mewa Shah Graveyard. Her funeral procession was attended, besides prominent Baloch leaders and activists, by Prince Mohyuddin, Prince Yahya Jan and Prince Ali Baloch.

She has left behind five daughters and two sons, besides her husband, to mourn her death.

Bibi Husan Bano had been playing an active role in creating awareness in Baloch women since 1993. She had established branches of the Tehrik in Karachi and Balochistan and had also travelled to UK, France and Australia to set up BRIT chapters there.
