LARKANA, June 22: The central vice-chairman of the Sindh National Front, Mr Amir Bakhsh Bhutto, has said that the staff appointed for preparing electoral lists in Larkana for the next elections is not reliable.
He accused the personnel of favouring a particular group.
Speaking at a press conference here on Thursday, he said that he had sent letters to the chief election commissioner and provincial election commissioner in this connection.
He said that he was not optimistic for the good to come from these officers. He said that the SNF would resist bogus entries in the voters list.
Criticising the National Finance Commission’s interim award based on population only, he said instead it should have been multifaceted encompassing poverty, resources and revenue generation.
“The rulers are beating the old line saying that Sindh generates 70 per cent revenue but gets only 10 per cent in return which is just a mole in camel’s mouth,” he said.
He said that the recent World Bank report said that Sindh was 55 per cent more prosperous and financially sound in 1947 than in 2006.
