‘Killer’ of two minors held

SARGODHA, June 22: A man who killed his two minor nephews at Istaqlalabad Colony has been arrested. District Police Officer Ahmad Mubarik stated this at a press conference in his office on Thursday.

He said Mudassar, 7, and Muzammil, 5, were killed and their bodies were thrown into canal by their uncle Abdul Waheed.

He said the boys had been missing for the last three days and their family searched them but in vain. On Wednesday, their bodies were found floating in the Lower Jhelum Canal near Chak 128-NB, he added.

It is learnt that the family was reluctant to lodge a report with police but Factory Area SHO insisted to register a murder case and during investigation he got the clue.

The accused told media men that he was living in Saudi Arabia along with his brother Abdus Sami, the father of the children.

He said his brother used to scold him and torture him with the connivance of his in-laws.

He said he killed the children to take revenge.

The kids were also the nephews of Abdul Ghaffar, a local journalist.
