WASHINGTON, June 22: The forward-looking index of leading economic indicators fell 0.6 per cent in May, further indication of a slowdown in the US economy, The Conference Board said on Thursday.
The decline was higher than analyst expectations of a 0.5 per cent drop and the third in the last six months. The leading index, used to indicate US economic trends six months in advance, fell 0.1 per cent in April.—AFP
