LAHORE, June 21: The Asian Cricket Council has decided to organise the Asia Cup on regular basis in alternate years. PCB director-operations Saleem Altaf told reporters that the decision was taken in the ACC’s annual general council meeting in Kuala Lumpur.
Pakistan will host next Asia Cup in 2008.
Saleem said the presidency of the ACC was given to Sri Lanka as part of the rotation policy and Sri Lanka cricket president Jayantha Dharmadasa would take charge of the office from July 1.
As part of the same policy, the director said, Pakistan would take control of the council’s development committee from July 1.
