The British embassy in Manama has taken the “precautionary measure” of temporarily withdrawing some of its staff and their dependents, Al Jazeera reports citing the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.

It was not immediately clear how many people were pulled from the site.

The embassy will continue to operate, it said on social media.
