Three suspects arrested in injured condition after ‘encounters’
TOBA TEK SINGH: Three suspects were injured in alleged separate police encounters on Tuesday.
In one incident, an alleged robber was arrested in injured condition after an encounter in Faisalabad late on Monday night.
Police claimed that in the D-Type Colony police area three outlaws allegedly snatched a motorcycle from a citizen.
A police party led by SHO Imtiaz Gondal chased the suspects and firing was exchanged between the police and criminals near Dera Haider Shah. When the firing ended, police claimed to have found one accused injured by the firing of his two escaped accomplices. He was identified as Ali Waris of Mandi Bahauddin and was shifted to the Allied Hospital. Police claimed that he was involved in dozens of robberies.
In another incident, a dacoit involved in 46 robberies was injured in an alleged encounter in Jhang Bazar police area of Faisalabad.
Police claimed that accused Waqar was being taken to recover looted valuables on his indication. Police claimed when the police van reached near water supply works, four persons opened indiscriminate fire on the policemen and snatched him away.
More police force was called and the encounter took place near a graveyard. After the guns went silent, police found him wounded by the firing of the attackers who fled away.
He was shifted to the Allied Hospital.
Meanwhile in the Sandalbar police area, a drug dealer was injured in an alleged encounter with the CCD.
Police claimed accused drug seller Nasir Ali was arrested a few days ago and he had escaped from the police custody. He was shifted to the DHQ Hospital.
CONVICTED: Gojra Additional District and Sessions Judge Shafaqat Ali, while pronouncing the verdict in the murder case, sentenced two convicts to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs800,000 each on Tuesday.
According to the prosecution, two years ago Muhammad Akhlaq of Mohalla Sharif Pura was killed by convicts Ali alias Muna and Muhammad Afzal over an old enmity.
ARRESTED: Faisalabad FIA Composite Circle arrested one Faizan Latif on Tuesday for allegedly operating an illegal travel agency and fake consultancy.
An FIA spokesperson said that the accused, in collusion with other accomplices, received Rs1.6 million from plaintiff Rafia Sajid for providing her with a working visa for the UK. He said that the accused had an office in Samundari under the name of Global Consultant and was involved in providing work permits illegally under the guise of consultancy.
FIA Sub-Inspector Bashir Khan raided and arrested the accused, while further investigation was underway and the role of his other facilitators was being determined.
MURDER: A youth was murdered in Chak 40-GB of Jaranwala tehsil on Tuesday.
Satiana police said that accused Nabil opened fire on Rana Waqas Iftikhar to take revenge for the of his cousin. The injured man was shifted to the Satiana RHC, where he succumbed to his wounds. Police shifted his body to the Jaranwala THQ Hospital for autopsy.
ACCIDENT: A rickshaw driver died and four schoolchildren were injured in a head-on collision between the motorcycle rickshaw and a pick up near Tory Allah Yar bus stop on the Mor Khunda-Mandi on Faizabad Road at Nankana Sahib on Tuesday.
Rickshaw driver Muhammad Sadaqat (25) died instantly while four school children identified as Ahsan (12), Sufian (10), Fiza (14) and Marva (15) were critically wounded.
Rescue 1122 shifted them to the Nankana Sahib DHQ Hospital.
