Authorities in Dubai have confirmed that the sounds heard in various areas of the emirate are the result of “successful interceptions by air defences”.

“The relevant teams continue to monitor the situation and take necessary measures to ensure everyone’s safety,” the Dubai Media Office said in a post X.

The authorities urged the public to obtain information from official sources.
