Pakistanis continue to return from Iran

QUETTA/GWADAR: Pakistani nationals continued to return from Iran through the Gabad and Taftan border points on Monday as FIA immigration officials put their total number to over 580 over the past two days amid the joint attack of the United States and Israel on Pakistan’s neighbour.

The deteriorating situation following the assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with senior members of the Iranian leadership have forced hundreds of Pakistani citizens to reach back through Taftan and Gabad border points.

Officials stated the local administration shifted more than 420 Pakistani nationals, who reported at the FIA immigration desk at Taftan after arriving at the border from Mir Jawah, to Pakistan House. “We are not only providing accommodation, but also food and other facilities, including transport to Karachi,” said Chagai Deputy Commissioner Jahanzeb Noor, adding that they could travel onward to their native towns from Karachi.

The deputy commissioner said that more citizens were on their way to Taftan and Gabad.
