IT training centre for youth opens in Peshawar
PESHAWAR: A well-equipped IT centre was inaugurated here on Monday under the Al-Khidmat Bano Qaabil programme launched by Jamaat-i-Islami Pakistan emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman to teach IT skills to the youth and enable them to earn online jobs.
The IT centre was inaugurated at Markaz-i-Islami, Sardargarhi, the Jamaat headquarters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan central president Prof Hafeezur Rehman and JI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa central emir Abdul Wasi opened the centre by cutting the ribbon.
Former senior provincial minister and Jamaat KP North emir Inayatullah Khan, provincial president Al-Khidmat Foundation Khalid Waqas, JI Peshawar emir Bahrullah Khan Advocate and others were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the ceremony, Dr Hafeezur Rehman said Al-Khidmat Bano Qaabil programme was not limited to just IT courses but was a systematic effort to guide the youth on the path of self-sufficiency.
He said that Al-Khidmat Foundation was providing modern skills to the youth so that they can not only get respectable employment for themselves but also play a positive and effective role in the country’s economy.
On the occasion, Mr Wasi said that in today’s era, knowledge and technology are the real power, and the initiative is equipping the youth with this power.
He said that the IT centre was a new opportunity for the youth of Peshawar where they will be able to earn a decent living.
Mr Waqas said that so far, more than 10,000 youth have been provided free IT training in 85 campuses across the province, so that they can shape their future in freelancing, software development and other digital sectors.
He expressed his determination that the programme will be further expanded so that more and more youth can benefit from this unique initiative.
