A series of powerful blasts have been heard in Tehran, though their origin is not immediately known, according to AFP journalists.

At least three detonations shook the capital around 8:30pm local time (1700 GMT), rattling the windows of one AFP journalist’s apartment. The ISNA news agency also reported “several” explosions in eastern and northeastern Tehran.
