Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has appealed to people to exercise patience, advising them against resorting to violence as protests erupted across the country following Iran’s supreme leader Khamenei’s assassination.

“Pakistan has supported Iran through every possible diplomatic means,” the minister said, adding that resorting to violence “will only benefit the enemy”.

“It is our responsibility to avoid causing unrest within the country and ensure protests remain peaceful,” he added.
