530 teachers, staff promoted in Pindi
RAWALPINDI: After a gap of two and a half years, the District Education Authority on Saturday finalised the promotion of 530 teachers and employees to the next grade following a day-long meeting of the District Promotion Committee.
Talking to Dawn, District Education Authority Chief Executive Officer Tariq Mehmood said the committee met to consider the promotion of teaching and non-teaching staff across the district.
“Next week, they will be able to apply for appointments in their preferred areas. The promoted staff will apply online for new assignments through the education department’s portal,” he said.
He said that under the promotion criteria, senior teaching and non-teaching staff were given preference, and all decisions were made on merit in accordance with the provincial government’s policy.
During the meeting, eight cases were discussed for promotion from junior clerk to senior clerk, while five senior clerks were promoted to assistant.
As many as 291 primary school teachers were promoted to elementary school teachers, and 114 elementary school teachers were elevated to secondary school teachers.
