GUJRAT: The Gujranwala police claimed to have arrested yet another policeman for facilitating notorious drug dealer Sajid alias Saju Khan who had earlier been killed by the `firing of his own accomplices’ during a shootout with the Wazirabad police around a week ago.

Earlier, on Friday, a sub inspector, an ASI and three cops were arrested on same charges.

Now Saqlain of Alipur Chatha police station was arrested after his links with the drug dealer were established in the forensic analysis of of his cell phone data. Nearly 2500 grams of hashish was also recovered from his possession.

A spokesman for the Gujranwala police said that the scope of investigation had been widened.

“Whoever is found involved in facilitating criminals or drug dealers, will be dealt with strictly as Gujranwala police have launched an internal accountability drive within its rank and file,” he said.
