Bahrain has said it was evacuating people from a neighbourhood housing the headquarters of the US navy’s Fifth Fleet after it was targeted by Iranian missiles.

“The Ministry of Interior has begun evacuating citizens and residents in the Juffair area. We urge your cooperation with the relevant authorities,” the ministry said in a statement.
