DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Two teenage boys were shifted to a hospital after allegedly consuming poisonous substances in separate incidents in the district, police said.
In the first incident, a 17-year-old boy identified as Hameedullah Sherani, son of Saifuddin and a resident of Darazinda, reportedly consumed toxic substance at his hostel near Faqirni Gate within the limits of city police station.
Police said the boy, who was residing at Islamabad Hostel, fell ill shortly after swallowing the substance and was immediately shifted to the Civil Hospital in Dera Ismail Khan.
In a separate incident in the limits of Bandkorai police station, a 16-year-old boy, Ashfaq Baloch, son of Mushtaq Baloch and a resident of Wanda Khaliq Shah, allegedly consumed poisonous wheat pills at his home.
He was also taken to the Civil Hospital for treatment, where he is in critical condition, hospital sources said. Police said the reasons behind both incidents could not be immediately known. Further inquiries are under way.
