PML’s new manifesto underway: Shujaat
ISLAMABAD, June 17: President Pakistan Muslim League Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Saturday said a new party manifesto was being written in accordance with the state objectives perceived by the founding father Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
Speaking at the launch of party’s monthly magazine Tarjuman-i-Muslim League, he said the party believed in making the country a democratic and welfare state.
He was confident that the party magazine would promote the objectives which were envisioned by its founder during the freedom movement.
Chaudhry Shujaat appreciated the initiative of the Karachi PML leaders to conceive the party magazine and brought it out. He was all praise for the high standard of the magazine in terms of content, rare pictures and layout.
Other party leaders who also spoke on the occasion were Senator Nisar Memon, Senator Abdul Ghaffar Qureshi, Iqbal Dar, Imtiaz Ranjha, Amanullah Paracha, Ghulam Mahmood, Adil Sheikh, Pir Charaguddin, Akram Masih, Dr Amjad, Farukh Khan, Chaudhry Aslam and Dr Ijaz.
CHINA VISIT: PML Senior Vice President Gohar Ayub Khan has termed President Musharraf’s visit to China a landmark development in view of its important results. In a statement he said the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit recognized Pakistan’s key role in promoting peace and security in the region. “This shows the success of Pakistan’s policies,” he said.
President Musharraf’s meeting with his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao provided historic in the sense that the two leaders agreed to further deepen strategic partnership between Pakistan and China. China also agreed to help realize Pakistan’s concept of an International Energy Corridor, he said. “This monumental energy corridor will mark a new era of development and international interdependence, the region has never known before,” he stressed.
He said the construction of Iran-Pakistan-India and Pakistan-China gas pipelines would add new dimension to development and peace objectives.
