KARACHI: Three suspects linked to Fitna al-Hindustan, a term used by the state for Balochistan-based terrorist groups, were arrested in the Korangi area on Monday, officials said.
They said that acting on a tip-off a joint team of Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) and Counter-Terrorism Department conducted a raid in Chakra Goth and arrested “three facilitators of Fitna al-Hindustan”.
A Rangers statement identified the held suspects as Yasir Arafat, Khuda Bux and Zahid Husain Barakzai.
The paramilitary force claimed to have recovered a huge quantity of explosives and ‘extremist literature’ from them.
The statement said the suspects allegedly brainwashed students of different colleges and universities to persuade them to join outlawed groups.
They were handed over to the police for further legal action, the Rangers statement concluded.
