BAHAWALNAGAR: The station house officer (SHO) of Haroonabad Saddar Police has been booked on charges of raping a woman on pretext of marriage, making her videos and blackmailing her with them, continuously raping her for five years, threatening to kill her in a fake encounter if she spoke out.
The first information report (FIR), registered with the McLeod Ganj Police on Feb 12, stated that the suspect came into contact with the woman, a resident of Ahmad Garden of tehsil Kahror Pucca, about seven/eight years ago while serving as SHO at the Abbas Nagar Police Station.
When he became the SHO of McLeod Ganj Police in July 2021, he allegedly raped her at a house near the police station, made videos of her and threatened to kill her and her family in an encounter if she spoke about it.
Later, the official began calling the woman to him on certain occasions, raping her and then sending her back. During this time, the woman gave birth to a daughter four years back. On Feb 8, the SHO visited the woman’s house and raped her again.
During the conversation, when the woman asked him whose name should be written in the section of the father on the girl’s school admission form, he got angry, shouted and labelled her a bad woman in front of the neighbours.
The FIR said that the suspect’s brother also threatened the woman, suggesting that the child’s DNA should be taken to prove her relationship with the SHO.
Police sources claimed that the SHO, who was serving as SHO Saddar Haroonabad, had been arrested. However, when contacted, the police spokesperson did not confirm the arrest.
ARRESTED: A paramedic of a private hospital in Chishtian was arrested on charges of sexually abusing a teenage female patient during her treatment.
According to the FIR, when the 16-year-old girl arrived at the Shahid Memorial Hospital on Feb 9 to have her stitches removed following an appendix surgery, the paramedic took her to a separate room and, despite the patient’s request, began removing her stitches himself rather than the lady staff.
The paramedic began flirting with the patient, and when she attempted to make a noise, he placed his hand over her mouth, threatened her with consequences and stealthily took her phone number.
The man then allegedly began texting her on WhatsApp, threatening to murder her if she spoke about the incident.
When the family learned of the incident, they contacted the police who filed a case against the suspect and arrested him.
