LAHORE: In a significant move, the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has approved a new policy, allowing change of the examination centres under specific and exceptional circumstances, aiming to ensure transparency while maintaining the integrity of the examination process.
According to the newly-approved policy for the change of examination centres, candidates will be allowed to request a change of centre on medical grounds, clash of examinations, marriage or death of a close relative, pregnancy or maternity (in case of female candidates), natural disasters, or serious law and order situations.
PPSC Secretary Afzal Ahmed issued the policy notification after final approval from the Commission Chairman retired Lt Gen Abdul Aziz.
In this regard, PPSC Deputy Director Syed Kazim Moqaddus Kazmi stated that the applications for change of examination centre must be accompanied by authentic and verifiable documentary evidence.
According to PPSC spokesperson, in exceptional and unavoidable circumstances, such as change of residence, transfer, or difficulty in access to the examination centre for persons with special needs, applications may be considered on a case-to-case basis. However, no application will be processed without documentary proof.
Furthermore, he said, for the PPSC employees applying for any post, the examination centre will be in Lahore only, and no change will be allowed.
