‘Missing’ MQM-L leaders returned home safely, SHC told
KARACHI: The Sindh High Court has disposed of petitions seeking the whereabouts of two “missing” Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-L) leaders after it was informed that they returned to their homes.
Petitioner Hassan Nisar had approached the SHC in September and contended that his father Nisar Panhwar, along with his friend Anwar Tareen, had been picked up on Sept 16 by law enforcement agencies after they left the house of Mr Panhwar in Saadi Town and since then, their whereabouts were unknown.
The wife of Mr Tareen had also filed an identical petition in the SHC.
When the matter came up for hearing before a two-judge constitutional bench, the police informed Justice Yousuf Ali Sayeed and Justice Abdul Mobeen Lakho that both the leaders safely reached their homes. The bench disposed of the petitions.
Meanwhile, a petitioner’s lawyer also confirmed that both the leaders reached their homes on Dec 12.
