Live-action Tangled back with Scarlett Johansson

Disney’s live-action Tangled is back on track, with Scarlett Johansson in talks to play Mother Gothel. The project was paused after Snow White’s box office flop, but resumed following Lilo & Stitch’s billion-dollar success.

Michael Gracey is set to direct, with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson writing the script. Casting for Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder is expected soon, with fans speculating about potential stars like Sabrina Carpenter. The 2010 animated original, which grossed $592.5 million worldwide, remains a fan-favourite and sets high expectations for the live-action remake.

Shrek V voice actors announced for Shrek and Fiona’s sons

DreamWorks announced that Marcello Hernandez and Skyler Gisondo will voice Shrek and Fiona’s sons in Shrek V. Zendaya is set to play their daughter, while Mike Myers and Cameron Diaz reprise their original roles.

The film is scheduled for release in December 2026. The franchise, which began in 2001, includes three sequels, a Christmas special, a Broadway musical and two Puss in Boots spin-offs.

NBA legend Steph Curry voices a giraffe in GOAT

Sony Pictures Animation released the first trailer for GOAT, a sports action-comedy set in an all-animal world. The story follows Will, a small goat chasing his dream to play pro “roarball,” a full-contact sport dominated by fierce animals.

Steph Curry voices a giraffe, marking his first voiceover role. The cast also includes Caleb McLaughlin, Gabrielle Union, Nicola Coughlan, Nick Kroll, David Harbour, Jennifer Hudson and others. Directed by Tyree Dillihay and co-directed by Adam Rosette, the film is written by Aaron Buchsbaum and Teddy Riley, inspired by the book Funky Dunks. GOAT hits theatres on February 13, 2026.
